About Jennifer J

My parents taught the American Dream formula: do well in school = good college; do well in college = good job; good job = nice house, cars, etc. = HAPPY. And I achieved it all except the HAPPY part. That unhappiness started showing up in my children’s behavior and landed us in a therapist’s office – absolutely the best thing that has ever happened to me. Therapy provided awareness, awakening and enlightenment and started a journey of the soul that I am addicted to (I am absolutely averse to stagnation now). It also freed me from the shackles of living the American Dream and unveiled a tremendous desire to make the world a better place. In trying to determine how I would make the world a better place, I discovered that I had many passions - the food movement, the green movement, religious tolerance, religious evolution, lack of parenting know-how, changing American Dream from materialism to purposeful living, moving the state of our democracy from apathy to faith that we can make a difference if we use our hearts and voices, moving capitalism from short-term consumerism to educated decisions, moving from one-size-fits-all education to nurturing every child’s nature. I wanted to help in all of these efforts and soon I started to realize that I wanted to make big systemic changes but felt absolutely ridiculous and crazy for thinking I could ever make a difference and that’s when I met Tim. With the help of his book and a lecture series by a history professor, I was able to define my ultimate passion – a renaissance that would impact all the ways in which we live – redefining what it means to be human - evolution. I learned that when institutions and belief systems no longer serve society, some people hold on to the archaic systems and viciously defend them while others get vastly creative and conduct experiments to find new solutions – that’s what I want to do – I want to work with a group of people that will ask new questions, experiment with solutions and discover and form a better future for our world. My occupation is accounting. I have the best husband in the whole world and incredible children – a daughter born in 2002 and a son born in 2005. We live in Rockwall, Texas.
